This is an excellent book by Jan Phillips that shows in splendid detail the edible plants of Missouri. Liberally illustrated with line drawings and beautiful color prints, it shows where to find, how to identify, and how to prepare everything from arrowhead to lichens. Scientific names are included, as well as cautions about what is NOT edible. Even if you don't live in Missouri or the Midwest, you'll want this just for the great illustrations. A great book for budding naturalists, too, as a field guide to identifying various plants. Softcover, 245 pages, measures 6" x 9".
