SOLAR - Let the Sun Shine!

How do solar products work? When sunlight shines on the solar panel, the solar panel converts the sunlight into electricity, either for immediate use or by storing the sun's energy into a battery! In that way, solar power can be used anytime and anywhere, just like anything else that runs off a battery. A solar battery charger allows you to store the sun's energy into NiCad batteries that look and act just like "normal" batteries, so you can use solar energy for all kinds of products!

     Waterproof Solar Flashlight

This waterproof (down to 60 feet) solar flashlight is powerful, versatile, and even FLOATS! Ideal for boats, and includes a bracket to easily mount on your bike's handlebars or boat rail! Add two optional AA batteries to double the light output and longevity, or use just solar for a powerful light! Has three blinking red LED lights on the tail end for added visibility or signaling, and you can use the flashlight and the blinking lights together or separately. Using solar power ONLY, you get 120 hours from the blinking lights, up to 3 hours on the flashlight, and 2.5  hours using both the flashlight and blinking lights. There's  a nifty built-in compartment that holds two spare bulbs... bulbs included!  This flashlight has great light output and comes with a carrying strap, bicycle mounting bracket (can be easily removed from bracket for hand-carrying), and detachable belt clip.   Kaito MultiBand Solar/Dynamo Radio

This is a great little radio with EXCELLENT reception! AM, FM, TV sound, Commercial bands, National Weather Service, Shortwave bands... this radio pulls them all in, clear as a bell. Get your news from MANY sources, local and abroad. Shortwave stations will truly broaden your horizons and give you a perspective on what the rest of the world is thinking, as well as allow you to listen to a variety of music from around the world! Not only does it have great reception in a small, lightweight and attractive package, it will run on sunlight alone. The built-in NiMH batteries will charge with sunlight or bright incandescent light, with the hand-cranked dynamo, or with the included AC wall adaptor. Four hours of bright sun=24 hours playtime, a 4 hour charge on the AC adaptor=72 hours playtime, or you can even insert 3 (optional) AA batteries for 72 hours playtime (again, use NiCads in conjunction with the solar battery charger to go TOTALLY solar!). The dynamo will probably never be needed, but if it is, you'll get one hour of playtime for 2 minutes of cranking. I'm sure you've heard of Baygen FreePlay radios... this beats the Baygen by MILES. Baygens are big and heavy, this radio weighs only 18 ounces and measures 6.5" (W) by 5.5" (H) by 2.25" (D). Radio bands include AM 525-1700 KHz; FM 88-108 MHz; Weather Band 162.5 MHz; TV sound for television channels 1-13; VHF (weather, taxi, ham radio and police) 145-175 MHz; and four continuous Shortwave bands 6.00-18.00 MHz. The best thing is, you don't have to buy anything extra! The Kaito radio comes complete with earphones, an AC wall adaptor, and a clip-on soft antenna for pulling in far-away shortwave transmissions (we've listened to the BBC, China, Australia, the Netherlands and more). This a a quality radio with Sony integrated circuits, and built by the same folks who build Grundig and Phillips radios. Easy to take along, wherever you go! This is the new IMPROVED Kaito radio, has improved dynamo gearing and internal batteries.
