Aloe Gel w/ Lidocaine
AfterBurn is a wonderful product that instantly cools and soothes burns, sunburn, windburn, chapped skin and other skin irritations. AfterBurn contains 80% by volume pure aloe vera gel for a fast, smooth-as-silk cooling sensation, and .5% Lidocaine (a topical anesthetic) for long lasting pain relief. Has a very light, fresh scent, is extremely effective, and is super easy to use... just rub it on. I've used it on everything from burns to a surgery scar and I LOVE it! 4 ounce tube.
This is what professional EMT's and paramedics use to cut away clothing, trim bandages, and a host of other things... you can use them for these purposes, or to cut thin metal (great on the SAM Splint), cut up a chicken, or other household uses. They are sturdy and have blunted edges and a handy sheepsfoot that slides easily under clothing. Made of stainless steel, you can take your choice of three different colored handles... black, red, or dark blue. 7" long.
The ExitAir Bio Hood can save your life by giving you time to escape from fire or flee from a release of biological agents such as anthrax, ebola, or plague. We chose this item very carefully... there are a lot of products out there that make claims they can't back up, but our research shows this to be solid and reliable. This hood is vacuum-packed and takes up little space (4.75" x 8" x .75"), so it's easy to stash in your briefcase, purse, pocket or emergency bag. Exceedingly easy to use, one only has to tear open the wrapper and pull the hood over your head... there's a large filter both front and back, so there's no "wrong" way to put it on, which is VERY important in a panic situation. The hood is made of a super-tough, yellow-tinted polymide film developed by NASA, is the same material used to insulate the space shuttles from extremes of heat and cold, and withstands temperatures up to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. The filters contain both activated carbon for chemicals and a HEPA filter for particulates. The HEPA filter captures all particulates down to 0.3 microns at an efficiency rating of 99.9994%. A neoprene collar made of latex comprises the neck opening, and stretches easily to slide on yet seals tightly to keep smoke and gasses out. The neoprene collar will withstand temperatures of 300 degrees Fahrenheit (just so you know, your body will actually begin to cook at temperatures much lower than this, so the hood will fare better than you do at very high temps!). Smoke is what kills most people in a fire, and we know now that biological warfare is a distinct possibility. The ExitAir Bio fits everyone, from infants to adults, and could very well save your life... give yourself and your loved ones that extra measure of time to escape from a hazardous area. This hood has a five year manufacturer's warranty as long as it's kept in it's sealed package, and if you have to use it to save your life during that time the manufacturer will replace it free. B-Fresh Toothbrush w/ Toothpaste
These are really handy for traveling, camping, backpacking, or even to throw in the briefcase or purse. The entire unit measures 4" long, has a full-size head of medium bristles, and the tiny tube of minty, fluoride toothpaste doubles as the handle. To use, just squeeze the tube until the proper amount of toothpaste flows thru the handle and into the bristles. You'll easily get 3-5 days of use out of this, and when the toothpaste is gone you can either throw the whole thing away or keep it to use with your own tube of toothpaste (your replacement tube won't fit onto the handle, you'll have to carry it separately). Soothing lip balm with aloe keeps lips from getting chapped and cracked, and contains an SPF 15 sunscreen too. But the coolest thing about this product is the neoprene-type sheath around it, with an elastic "leash" and sturdy clip so you can attach it to your keyring, the zipper on your jacket, belt loop or wherever. No more going through 50 tubes every winter just because you keep losing them! When you use up the included tube of lipbalm, you can refill the holster with any tube of lip balm!
OK, someone in your party decides that a hole in the ground or that nasty latrine isn't good enough, or you don't want to have to trudge out in the rain to take care of business. Perhaps the pop-up or cab-over didn't come equipped with a toilet, or you need an alternative in case of natural disaster. Now you can make your own portable potty... just snap this lightweight, durable toilet seat onto any 5 gallon pail (you provide the bucket, you can get 'em at nearly any fast food restaurant, it's what they ship pickles and such in) and you have your own portable toilet. You can fancy it up with a plastic garbage bag liner and/or a couple of inches of kitty litter in the bucket if you like. Measures about 12.5" across and 1" deep with the lid closed. Made in Canada.
NoRinse Body Bath is an excellent way to completely eliminate human scent and odor, while thoroughly cleansing the skin with a minimum amount of water. NoRinse is used by all NASA astronauts on space missions, but it will work great for you in the backcountry or at home! Though the instructions say to dilute 1 ounce in 32 oz. of water, I've found that one can get great results with as little as 8 oz. of water and just a squirt of NoRinse. The easiest way to use is to wet a Camp Towel, apply one squirt of NoRinse to the Camp Towel, rub the towel in your hands to get it sudsy, then wash. There is absolutely no rinsing required, it gets you clean, fresh and odor-free, and is not drying to the skin. This product is excellent for hunters who wish to eliminate human odor, for backpackers, hikers, quick clean-ups anywhere, invalids or others who cannot take a bath or shower for some reason, and for use where water is scarce or rationed (how much water do you have stored for an emergency?). Available in handy 2 oz. travel size (or longer lasting 8 oz. size below), and both have an easy to use flip-up cap.

Oral rehydration salts can save lives! When heat, inadequate water intake, strenuous exercise or illness have caused dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, it is imperative to re-hydrate the victim and restore proper electrolytes. Trying to drink plain water at a time like this can cause you to become even sicker, but this mixture is easy to keep down and actually has a soothing effect on the digestive system (I speak from experience). Simply empty a packet into a liter or quart of clean water and have the victim drink as much as possible. Safe for everyone, from infants to elderly. Less expensive and more portable than Pedialyte ™, and more effective than Gatorade ™ or PowerAde ™, each foil package contains 1 oz. of a special formulation that includes the equivalent of 3.5 g. of sodium chloride, 1.5 g. of potassium chloride, 2.9 g. of trisodium citrate dihydrate, and 20 g. of glucose anhydrous. Keep several packets in your pack, first aid kit, get-and-go bag, and at home. Instructions for use are printed on the package in English, French and Spanish.

I LOVE these bandages because they are so easy to use! Medical Corps Potassium Iodate Tablets
These tablets have one use and one use only... when taken ONLY immediately before and during the release of radioactivity, they saturate the thyroid gland, preventing it from absorbing deadly radioactive iodine. Radioactive iodine causes thyroid cancer, especially in young, growing children who are the most susceptible to it. During a nuclear emergency, such as a radiation release at a nuclear power plant, large quantities of radioactivity can be released, and then disbursed by high-level winds for hundreds of miles. The thyroid gland attracts iodine like a magnet, and by filling it with this "good" form of iodine, the thyroid is prevented from absorbing radioactive iodine. A bottle contains 200 tablets, each containing 85mg of very shelf-stable potassium iodate (KI03) which yields 50 mg of elemental iodine (shelf life is a minimum of 10 years, possibly indefinite). The tablets are scored into 1/4's to allow easy dosing of pets, infants and children. The dosages are: adults = 2 tablets per day, children age 3 to 12 = 1 tablet per day, children age 1 month to 3 years = 1/2 tablet per day, children newborn to 1 month = 1/4 tablet per day, large dogs = 1-2 tablets per day, medium dogs = 1/2 to 1 tablet per day, cats = 1/2 tablet per day. The minimum number of days to take this product is 10-14 days, and a maximum of 85 days or for the duration of the fallout. If you are allergic to iodine, have a thyroid disease or disorder, or are pregnant, please consult your physician before purchasing or using this product (please note that in a nuclear emergency that you WILL be exposed to iodine, whether it's from fallout or by taking these tablets). This product should ONLY be used when you are in imminent danger of radioactive iodine, and NOT as a nutritional supplement or for any other purpose. It will NOT help you at all (and could cause harm) to take it more than 12 hours before radioactive iodine is expected in your locale. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and WHO (World Health Organization) recognize potassium iodate as an "emergency thyroid blocker", and the military has it on hand for its troops. The federal government has purchased large quantities to hand out to local governments located within 10 miles of a nuclear reactor... anyone who believes that any government entity could get this distributed to everyone living in a 10 mile radius (forget the poor folks who live further downwind) within 10 hours of a radiation release, please give me a call as I have a bridge I'd like to sell you. Potassium iodate is generally better tolerated and less bitter, and has a longer shelf life than, potassium iodide. With the current craziness in the world, this is cheap insurance for you and your family... let's all pray that none of us ever needs to use it.
